Kathairos has emerged as the leading North American solution for methane elimination from pneumatics, with more than 1,000 systems in operation across North America and over 40 major oil and gas producer partners.

We were thrilled to see Caerus Oil and Gas LLC's just launched 2023 Sustainability Report! Caerus was the first operator in Colorado to employ the Kathairos solution to use liquid nitrogen to power their oil and gas facilities.
In 2023, they eliminated emissions from 1,100 devices using liquid nitrogen, and we can't wait to continue to support them.
From Caerus' 2023 Sustainability Report
"Caerus was the first operator in Colorado to employ liquid nitrogen as a clean power source for our well-site pneumatic devices. This groundbreaking initiative eliminates emissions associated with traditional well site control devices. Historically, well site operations relied on natural gas for power, but Caerus' adoption of liquid nitrogen represents a significant leap forward in environmental responsibility.
"The transition to liquid nitrogen entails setting up cryogenic tanks and reconfiguring piping to use pneumatic pressure to provide power for control valves and other pneumatic devices. In 2023, we eliminated emissions from over 1,100 devices using liquid nitrogen. This was part of a company-wide program that eliminated 8,457 pneumatic devices through repowering, replacing, and removal.
"Despite challenges posed by the sheer number of pneumatic devices (approxiametely 30,000 total devices) across our operations in Colorado and Utah, we aim to repower, replace, or remove an additional 9,000 devices in 2024 and the remainder by the end of 2026. Use of liquid nitrogen will play a key role in the success of that program."
Simple, Scalable, and Affordable
At the 2024 PTAC Methane Leadership Summit in Banff, AB, Kathairos invited Jerry Dismukes, Caerus' Air Quality Manager, on stage to talk about US Deployment Success Stories, where he talked about the implementation of our solution.
"The operators in the field really love nitrogen. It's so simple - you just tie it in and it runs itself," said Dismukes.
Caerus employees are proud of their methane elimination projects, and while initially daunted by the sheer volunteer of pneumatic devices, the affordability and scalability of Kathairos has made their goal attainable.
