Wherever you are, so are we.

Kathairos’ North America-wide delivery network pairs our seasoned field personnel and custom vehicle fleet with an array of liquid nitrogen plants and localized storage systems. The result: trusted remote operations and ample, affordable nitrogen across every operating basin in the US and Canada.

“It is an innovative yet simple solution to completely eliminate methane emissions on pneumatic controllers and significantly reduce maintenance of the process."
John Landis
Production Manager, Northeast Natural Energy

The System

The system is comprised of a proprietary double-walled, vacuum-pulled vessel designed for the long-term storage of liquid nitrogen. A vaporization coil fixed to the inner wall of the outer tank maintains preferred nitrogen pressure and flow, while levels are continuously measured with telemetry.

The Services

Kathairos' all-in service offering includes delivered liquid nitrogen, 24/7 tank monitoring, management and refilling, ongoing system optimization analysis, consumption data and abated emissions reporting, and optional carbon credit management, verification and serialization.

The Solution

The Kathairos solution is a highly innovative methane abatement system, complemented by a suite of best-in-basin services.

The Kathairos solution has seen unprecedented market adoption across North America, driven by ambitious decarbonization targets and regulatory timelines.

Every basin, on time

No matter your site location, the system can be deployed in eight weeks or less from time of order. Site commissioning takes one to two hours, immediately bringing the well site to zero emissions the moment it's turned on.

Speed and scale

Thanks to our powerful manufacturing partnership with Chart Industries, Kathairos can deploy thousands of units per month – a necessary requirement given the hundreds of thousands of well sites still to be addressed in advance of zero-vent compliance deadlines.

Trusted Field Operators

Similar to the commercial propane industry, the liquid nitrogen tanks are refilled on an as-needed basis by Kathairos’ dedicated full-time field operators, led by a fearless fleet of cryogenic pros.

Meticulous monitoring

Kathairos' operations teams are responsible for the continuous management of every tank in their dedicated region. They oversee nitrogen levels and consumption rates, and monitor for any changes or special alerts on a 24/7 basis.

Uptime peace of mind

With over 5.3 million operating hours to date and 99.999% uptime, the Kathairos system is exceedingly reliable. However, thanks to the inert nature of nitrogen compared to instrument air, if a return to field gas is ever required, it's an easy switch.

Strategic field offices

While our corporate office is located in Calgary, Alberta, our field offices are where we come to life. We're proud to have crews, trucks, staging yards and storage hubs across the US and Canada, with new locations continuously added.

Fit-for-purpose transport units

Kathairos' extensive line-up of high-tech transport vehicles are purpose-built for locations inaccessible to traditional bulk supply tankers. Our hauling and delivery units range from heavy-duty nitrogen trucks, trailers and tractors to light-duty, back-road, off-road and all-season vehicles – each offering safe, fast and convenient fills, and allowing Kathairos' field operators to minimize their time onsite to 30 minutes or less.

Guaranteed Supply

Kathairos' liquid nitrogen storage units ensure critical supply in all operating regions and keep our customers and crews at ease. Inclement weather, plant issues and tight markets are no match for these 11,300-gallon vessels, and enable us to further optimize delivered nitrogen pricing to our producer partners.

Collaboration is critical to achieving ambitious goals

Kathairos’ liquid nitrogen tanks and transportation systems are manufactured by Chart Industries (GTLS:NYSE) – North America's largest cryogenic vessel manufacturer. Thanks to our exclusive two-way partnership and Chart's proven capacity and expertise, we are able to deploy the Kathairos solution across North America at the speed and scale necessary to meet regulatory timelines.

“In anticipation of incoming methane regulations, we expect there to be significant increase in demand for Kathairos' services and we wanted our companies closely aligned in order to meet and exceed the market’s needs. Together, we will continue to collaborate in helping our customers meet their ambitious methane elimination targets and meaningfully advance their decarbonization goals.”

Abundant supply

Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe, and air separation units separate and chill constituent nitrogen to -320°F / -196°C where it turns from gas to liquid form. North America’s oil and gas-producing basins are equipped with many such production facilities, providing ample supply for Kathairos' needs.

Affordable commodity

Deep partnerships with the continent's leading industrial gas suppliers and our extensive transportation network have enabled Kathairos to establish the largest microbulk delivery operation in the US and Canada. As well, these relationships have afforded us unparallelled access to nitrogen when and where we need it, at unbeatable plant gate pricing.
