Scaling Emissions Reduction in the DJ Basin: A Rapid, Reliable Solution

In the fast-evolving regulatory landscape of oil and gas operations, producers are looking for scalable, cost-effective solutions to reduce methane emissions. A large oil and gas producer in the Denver-Jules (DJ) Basin recently demonstrated how strategic partnerships and forward-thinking planning can drive rapid emissions reductions—converting over 5,500 devices and deploying 250 tanks in just seven months.  

This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and efficiency. With an impending regulatory shift, the producer took decisive action to implement a zero-emission pneumatic solution, avoiding compliance fees while making significant strides in emissions reduction. As of January 2025, their efforts are mitigating approximately 3,400 metric tons of CO2e per month, putting them on track to eliminate 40,000 metric tons of CO2e annually—and that number continues to grow as additional tanks are installed.

From Trial to Full-Scale Implementation

The journey began with a three-tank pilot program in Fall 2023, running through early Q1 2024. After a successful trial period, the producer moved quickly, ordering over 250 tanks in 2024. This rapid scale-up showcased the effectiveness of the technology and the ability of our operations team to keep pace with demand.

With 50 additional tanks currently being installed and more tanks in the pipeline, this partnership highlights what’s possible when innovative technology meets operational excellence.
